World Vision partners with Bayad Center

International Christian relief, development, and advocacy organization World Vision has recently partnered with CIS Bayad Center, Inc.  This partnership recognizes World Vision as a beneficiary of Bayad Center’s “Bayad Mo, Buhay Ko” program, where for every bill paid at the Bayad Center, an amount will be donated to support the programs of World Vision, at no cost to the paying customer.  This program is part of Bayad Center’s social responsibility to share its blessings and exercise good corporate citizenship.

Prior to this program, Bayad Center has already been actively supporting World Vision by sponsoring 10 children and offering its branches to accept donations for World Vision.

Bayad Center exceeds growth target

CIS Bayad Center, Inc., a specialized payment collection company designed to service the bill collection concerns of various public utility firms and other bill-intensive organizations, has already exceeded its 2007 growth target, having doubled its business volume during the first nine months of the year.

Owned by Meralco, Bayad Center initially served Lopez companies when it started a decade ago. It has eventually expanded to accommodate and service other business operations.

CIS Bayad Center president and CEO Manuel Lorenzo L. Tuason said in an interview that the service of making available and providing secured one-stop bills payment counters has since been gaining popular acceptance.

"We are now servicing over 60 client firms and by yearend we expect to sign up 15 more," he noted, adding that in terms of volume, Bayad Center has already doubled its business and now handles 2.5 million bills per month involving the transfer of P3 billion worth of payments to billing companies monthly.

In fact, Tuason stressed Bayad Center is the only non-bank agency authorized to accept Social Security System (SSS) premiums. By the first quarter of 2008, he said they will also start servicing the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR). Still under negotiations are Pag-ibig and Philhealth.

Aside from the other Lopez family-owned companies, Bayad Center now also services Philippine Long Distance and Telecommunications Co. (PLDT) and other telecommunications companies whose clients may pay their bills through its strategically situated counters.

Bayad Center is the Philippines’ pioneer and leader in the over-the-counter multiple bills collection business.

It continues to define and set the standards in the industry with its increasing number of biller partners and fast-growing network of payment centers in the country and in key cities around the world.

There are now over 860 Bayad Centers strategically distributed and positioned nationwide and soon, more than 450 Bayad Center-accredited outlets spread around the world.

Bayad Center Ventures into Franchising

BAYAD CENTER, the country’s market leader in multiple-bills payment collection, launched its franchising business to prospective entrepreneurs in the 6th Filipino Franchise Show held July 6-8, 2007, at the SM Mega Trade Hall.  This is the first time in 10 years that the said company is awarding franchises.

This strategy is part of BAYAD CENTER’s mission to be present in every possible neighborhood in the country.

The business is the first of its kind in the country: the BAYAD CENTER serves as a one-stop payment center for most of the bills in the market.  This creates a win-win solution for all parties involved -- the customers, franchisees, and the billing organizations.

With this concept, customers enjoy the sweet convenience of paying their bills all at one location, saving them time, effort, and money (from commuting from one business center to another).  With BAYAD CENTER’s state-of-the-art technology powered by IBM Websphere, the customers are assured that paying at the BAYAD CENTER is like paying at the business centers of their billers.

Franchisees, with the right business acumen, will find BAYAD CENTER as a viable venture, given that the service it provides is a basic need even during lean economic periods.  If the customers, for instance, need to cut back on expenses, they may forego eating at a restaurant but they still need to pay for their bills each month.

In addition, BAYAD CENTER is not bound by business exclusivity.  This means that they may continue their existing businesses while running the BAYAD CENTER.  The latter may even serve as a traffic generator and loyalty builder.

The bill-intensive organizations, on the other hand, are able to outsource the tedious task of bill collection (thus lower its overhead and operating costs in monitoring a multitude of collection agents) and are therefore able to concentrate on its central functions (i.e. enhanced service levels, streamlined process flow).  In addition, these organizations are shielded from collection-related losses because all BAYAD CENTER collections are secured.

The Company
Established in 1997, CIS BAYAD CENTER, INC. is a subsidiary of MERALCO.  For the past decade, the country’s top local and multinational organizations from various industries have partnered with BAYAD CENTER.  Many of these organizations are the leaders in their respective industries: electricity and water services, telecommunications, cable TV, insurance & pre-need, internet, electronic money, credit card, columbary, and real estate.  BAYAD CENTER also forged partnerships with the Social Security System or SSS (being the first non-bank to do so) and charitable organizations.  With BAYAD CENTER, these partners are able to focus on their core competencies, develop their competitive advantages, and eventually create more value for their stakeholders.

Being the industry pioneer with a decade of experience, BAYAD CENTER is the brand leader in the business and carries the highest number of brands in the industry.  No competitor has matched the massive network of more than 800 collection centers nationwide, over 450 accredited centers overseas, and range of corporate (biller) partners that the BAYAD CENTER has built over the years.  It has defined and set the standards of the Outsourced Payment Collection Industry.

In 2006, BAYAD CENTER was recognized as the country’s Best One-Stop Payment Shop (National Award) by the National Product Quality Excellence Award and  acclaimed as the Number One Bills Payment Center (Metro Manila Award) by the National Shoppers’ Choice Annual Awards.

Now, more than ever, BAYAD CENTER continues to blaze the trail in the industry by providing a dependable bills collection solutions to its corporate partners, and providing the public with a reliable and convenient payment collection service.

The BAYAD CENTER is not resting on its laurels.  This is just the beginning.  Even with its already strong presence, it continues to aggressively expand throughout the Philippines and overseas.
